CM emphasised the urgent need to assist marginalised communities, including backward classes, scheduled castes, and minority groups

Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said that over one crore voters in the state face potential deletion from the electoral rolls during the ongoing Special Intensive Summary Revision if proactive measures are not taken.

“We have issued only 50 per cent of the caste certificates and permanent residential certificates. We have another crore certificates to be distributed. Also, we need to actively guide Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to resolve discrepancies to minimise logical discrepancies and also to launch a drive to enrol new voters through Form 6,” Shivakumar said.
