Reacting to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s comments criticising the Opposition for not backing the Delimitation Bill despite the government’s assurance that the strength of every State in the Lok Sabha would increase by 50%, the Congress pointed out that no such amendment was ever moved by the government

In a post quoting Chief Minister interview to a daily, Congress General Secretary (Communications) Jairam Ramesh said the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister was being “unfair” to the Opposition. He added that on April 16, the TDP had suggested an amendment to the Delimitation Bill, proposing a blanket 50% increase in the Lok Sabha seats for all States while maintaining the current proportionality.
