Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar says government will hold talks with military and Air Force officials on using rooftop helipads for emergency rescue operation.

Helipads on high-rise buildings in Bengaluru will be made mandatory to facilitate emergency rescue operations during fire accidents and terrorist attacks, Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said. The state government will hold discussions with military and Air Force officials to work out an agreement for using rooftop helipads during emergencies, chief minister said.

"High-rise buildings are increasing in Bengaluru city. If fire accidents or terrorist attacks happen, protecting citizens is our duty. In such emergency situations, to save lives by using helipads, our government will hold talks with military and Air Force officials for an agreement," he said.
